Gerald D’Angelone is currently a Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Queens Law Enforcement Bureau and the First Vice President (Deputies) of the Deputy Sheriff's Association. Gerald received an A.S. from Nassau Community College, a B.A. from SUNY College at Old Westbury, and his M.S. from Touro College. Gerald was a science teacher with the Department of Education for six years, where he was elected as the school's Delegate to the United Federation of Teachers and ultimately elected the school’s Chapter Leader. During his tenure as Chapter Leader, a position that forced him to be outspoken when necessary, he was a fierce fighter for members rights, including filing grievances, going into arbitration hearings, and he ultimately had a principal rightly removed from their position.

Since coming to the NYC Sheriff’s Office in November of 2014, he has been an active member of the DSA and an advocate for his fellow Deputies. His efforts were recognized in May 2018 when he was appointed First Vice President (Deputies) of the DSA. As First Vice President, Gerald will continue to be dedicated to his members by representing them on labor relations, negotiations, legislative activities and policy issues that affect the welfare of the DSA, its members and their families.
